This & the Cube are the current top of the line Anbernic handhelds as of late 2024.
The 406V feels like a premium device, the buttons, d-pad, and joysticks feel superb. The android 13 software works well, feels familiar, it’s like navigating my phone.
I bought this unit specifically for PS2 emulation and it doesn’t disappoint. Some more demanding games may require a few tweaks, but afterwards run 95% close to the native hardware. Most games in my library play perfectly with native or 2x resolution. This is what I’ve been looking for in terms of performance in this price range.
The only real issue I have with the 406V is that there’s no mini HDMI port. Anbernics RG35XXSP is around $55 USD and has a mini HDMI port. It’s ridiculous that this device doesn’t have one, it would’ve been awesome to have that option.
Besides that, I love this thing. It comes with a tempered glass screen protector in the box too btw.

Game system worked pretty well. struggled with PS2 emulation. Also build quality is horrible. was dropped from waist height and the screen popped out, apparently it was just lightly taped in to begin with. Too expensive for such a poor build quality.

I Never got my item, tired of going back and forth with the seller. Do not buy from them. They want proof that item was delivered here is the proof at a uhaul warehouse in the picture! Does that look like it was delivered no! Really can someone explain? Does anyone sign for anything delivery by Aliexpress? Nope i buy a lot of things never had to sign for it. P.S. this is my second RG406V. The first one touch screen didn’t work. This is not good business

As expected..I think I got a great price on this..came preloaded with emulators and operating system..(I had the games)

The device arrived about when I expected it to (~2 weeks) and was well packaged and protected. Everything functions fine and it required relatively minimal setup for an Android emulation device. Mostly just loading up roms and tinkering with settings a bit (check Retro Game Corps guides for details). So far everything works great and I’m using this device to play Wind Waker on my lunch breaks. It’s not as comfortable as my Steam Deck but it’s way more ergonomic than the GameBoys that us old people used to play on. Judt so you can gauge your expectations, it handles most Gamecube games decently but struggles with a lot of PS2, although messing with settings can help a bit on that. Obviously everything below Gamecube works perfectly.
